Esther has always had an affinity with children, and after her undergraduate studies, Esther knew that she wanted to pursue her studies and work to help children with special needs. Since 2014, she has been working in the area of early intervention in both Singapore and the USA. She is well-versed in Applied Behavioural Analysis-Verbal Behaviour (ABA-VB); she spent two years of her Master’s internship at an ABA-focused school in Massachusetts and received on-the-job registered behaviour technician (RBT) approved training. Esther wanted to further understand and learn how an established evidence-based approach (EVB) such as ABA can substantially help neurodivergent children. After attaining her Master’s qualification, Esther has been a Behavioural/Educational Therapist for children aged 2 to 10 years old. She is trained to use therapeutic/early intervention programs such as Functional Behavioural Assessment (FBA), Assessment of Basic Language and Language Skills (ABLLS) and The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP).
Esther is an advocate for individualized, child-centred approaches, and aims to work closely with families, schools and other relevant professionals as a team to help the child achieve his/her highest potential. She strives to have a deep understanding that’s specific to every child and tailors her approach to every child differently. Esther’s heart and passion are genuinely found in serving young children. Seeing children grow and overcome hurdles brings her untold joy and meaning. Esther aims to continually improve her skills to be a person who makes a positive impact on these children’s lives and enriches their schooling years.
During her free time, Esther enjoys photography, playing the drums and doing Zumba.
